Equipment

Equipment plays quite a big part in today's golf, but try to always remember that you have to have skill to use equipment. You don't always have to have the newest clubs and other equipment. Ofcourse if you have money to spare it doesn't hurt to have expensive clubs, but remember that you may look foolish on the course if you can't play well with a very expensive set of clubs.

Besides the clubs there are lots of other pieces of equipment in golf. They're are either more or less important. I have several sections describing the important equipment, and a seperate setion for the miscelaneous equipment.

So you may think that playing golf is expensive by looking at the prices of the equipment in your local sports shop. However, sports shops usually have only the newest and most expensive equipment on showcase, and the cheaper stuff is somewhere in the backroom. A smart thing for a beginner to do is to buy your equipment from a professional golf shop to get expert's advice, and get the right equipment for you. It's also a good idea to try your clubs before you buy them. If you can't spare enough money for new golf clubs, then you could consider used clubs. But, always have someone with you who knows something about golf equipment when buying from an individual, to avoid them cheating you by selling you bad equipment.
