Getting a Green Card

Greencard is like a driver's license for golf. There are two reasons for it. The first one is to make sure that people who play in the course are skilled enough and will not jepardize or slow other players, nor destroy the course. The second one is that when a player receives a greencard, he/she has reached a certain level, and is ready to play in the course. A Greencard is needed to join a golf club.(You have to be part of a club to play). However in some countries like the US, you can also play without a greencard in some courses especially designed for beginners.

There are many ways to get a green card. I'll tell you about the two most common ways. The most common way is to ask your local pro to give you a series of exams. In the first part of the exam you have to show your long game, by hitting several long shots, in the second part your short game is tested, the last part is a written part which tests your knowledge of rules and the etiquette. The test may sound quite hard, but if your feel confident about your swing, and know the basic rules you have a big chance of passing the tests. However if you don't know how to play golf you should go to beginner lessons, or ask the local pro for private lessons. Another way to get a greencard is to go to special greencard lessons which guarantee you to get a greencard by the end of the series of lessons. It may sound good, however not all golf clubs accept green cards that have not been achieved through the testing method. So basically you should ask your local club for their opinion. There may also be other ways to get a greencard. If you know any please tell me about them.
